ive got it on a cd i made

how do i go about installing as i dont understand that qflash thing in the bios
,can i just install it from windows?

cheers

Yes, the Gigabyte InstantUpdate program will let you flash the BIOS from Windows. It's on the CD that came with the motherboard (under utilities).

Try running it in XP SP2 compatibility mode.

Now, you've always struck me as the sensible type - would you (after thinking about it) recommend flashing his BIOS using the compatibility mode?

Make a BOOT floppy and do it from that. If you haven't got a floppy then buy one - they're only £5 and the possibility of scrambling your BIOS is too high any other way.

Personally I don't trust running the in-Windows flashers at all. Floppy in the BIOS all the way for me.

But I have seen other ppl use the XP compatibility mode for the Gigabyte @BIOS in the beta builds of Vista last year.

hi

so the only safe way to update my bios is by getting a floppy?

i think my version is f5 at the moment is that ok?

cheers

Unless you have a good reason to upgrade, I would leave it at f5. That or buy a floppy drive.

Like I said - You always seemed sensible to me ;)
