Sorry I know this is a really nooby question but do I NEED to update my BIOS. I have an ASUS P5N-E SLi and I wish to start overclocking and I know you are supposed to update your BIOS, but I dont have a floppy drive and cant really be bothered to get one :p. I know there is this ASUS update utility which I 'think' means you can update without a floppy. Is this all really necessary. I wont be going seriously hardcore with the clock but I would like a fair gain. Ta

Well I havent updated yet because it seems like a lot of trouble for minimal (if any gain). I can say though that all is going well so far overclocking wise. The only thing I have changed so far is the RAM timings to the recommnded timings ([email protected]) and have set the vcore voltage to 1.36 (default I hope!), and I have increased the FSB to 1500MHz (375x8) so have got my E6420 to 3GHz and all temps are looking ok (46 degrees or under after 30mins stress test on Orthos). The only thing I'm worried about is that my Vcore Voltage is looking a little low - 1.31V. Would increasing the Vcore in the BIOS solve this or is my PSU to weak? (OCZ Modstream 450W)

Cheers
