Hi Guys,

Just a quick question for you all out there.

I have the motherboard that is stated in my sig.

I have never updated the BIOS on the board and I have noticed that I am on
version 1502 and there has been 2 BIOS release's that I have not done.

So my questions are:

Can I skip an update and go straight to the latest update or should it be done
in order?

My other question is, I have the AI Suite that comes with the Asus motherboard
and It has a BIOS update feature is it ok to update the BIOS with this?
E.G. Is it safe?

Thanks Guys.

There's no need to flash it twice so just go to the newest one available. It's usually best to avoid flashing the BIOS in Windows incase anything goes wrong, you might find that you can do it in the BIOS as even my P45 board has that feature, EZ flash I think it is.

You can update straight to the latest version.

Update the BIOS using the EZ Flash 2 utility from within the BIOS (see page 3-33 of the user manual).

It would seem there have been several BIOS's since 1502, the latest being 2303 if I'm looking at the right motherboard.

If you have overclocked, or bought an overclocked bundle or system, then updating the BIOS will wipe the overclock settings.

And the last thing is that you shouldn't update the BIOS for the sake of it.

Unless the new BIOS (or the ones subsequent to yours) introduce a feature you need, or fix something that's not working, then leave it alone.

As they say:

Thanks Guys,

lol Surveyor I was kinda thinking the same thing though to be honest with you it was just
that the update says improved system stability and stuff like that but the system is stable
anyway, When I build something it works lol.

Thanks for the information anyway guys, I will leave it for the time being.
