Hi all,
I have the hardware below, I got a popup today from a game telling me that I do not have the most recent version of my BIOS. After checking there seems to be a release with a newer date (https://rog.asus.com/uk/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z790-f-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_bios/). I cant figure out why my version is 1002, 21,02,2024 and there is no version with that number of the motherboard manufacturers site. So, I downloaded the most recent version from the site before as it did have a newer date, extracted it to a newly formatted USB and tried to use the I/O button on the back (the USB was plugged in to the correct BIOS port). This had no effect on the computer at all.
So I have gone in to the boot options, advanced settings and tried to manually select the file. I did download and follow the instruction to rename the file so it was a .CAP file and matched my motherboard. It gave me the error that it was not a valid BIOS.
Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900KS, 3200 Mhz, 24 Core(s), 32 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 1002, 21/02/2024
BaseBoard Manufacturer ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
BaseBoard Product ROG STRIX Z790-F GAMING WIFI II
Where am I going wrong, is the version I have the latest version and I am looking in the wrong place.
Sorry for the lengthy post and thanks to everyone in advance for your time
