Hi not sure if in correct page? but whats the advantages/needs to update my bios on a formuls rampage?

Generally, BIOS updates fix very specific faults, don't add performance.
They do tend to add revisions of newer CPUs, added after the BIOS was written.

If everything is functioning, and the bios readme file doesn't list an issue you are experiencing as being resolved in a new version, there will be little to no benefit in upgrading.

Hi thanks for getting back.
I keep getting it saying things like probe/level up etc failed or not working plus my overclock has failed? Ive only set the ram manually to correct timmings and volts etc for ram so wondering if it would help with that plus usb/pci/cpu controls as have a recurrent lagging/freeze problem

If you do decide to update the bios, do not, under any circumstances use the Asus windows flashing software. Download the bios to a usb stick and press Alt + F2 on startup to run EZ-Flash.

Hi yes saw that somewhere else? So whats is it with ASUS and there *****d up software? Went to their site other day to get drivers for mobo as when tried using disc that came with board.W7 said huh huh no you don't.so had to trawl for them.Tried on of the programes to install and just said your your board/system isnt upto the standard to use?or sim.

I'm just looking to get it more stable with above probs plus friend reckons that it's called staging that is when it does what it does when you are using pc as say every 5secs it gives a momentry (frame?) freeze.

Went back to vista H'drive today to use and it was realy bad.

Couple of others playing in my clan are getting it aswell so must be catching?lol

Hi would you say that the bios needs updating/a problem? or deeper problem?
As when i manually set ram speed to correct 1066.the pc froze got to windows page and desktop and froze then rebooted got to shut down unexpect page repair/normal. tried repair started then froze.few more tries said starting windows and thats was that.

Put ram speed back to auto and works again.

To be honest I always try and get the drivers from the various chipset vendor's sites so intel.com realtek.com etc etc

I would normally only get the from the board manufacturers site as a last resort.

i had no promlem with the asus bois program in windows flashed a few boards using it not a bad little programme

Hi ok guys so which bios version do i go with or do i just go with newest one?as been on asus site to have a root about for things for this board as W7 said hoo no you don't when i tried disc in drive so had to go find them.
Funny thing was mate sent me driver checker to use and that didnt find/update much?
