Bios upgrade failed. Now beeping on startup?

Hi there,

recently tried flashing my bios and i have done it twice before with no problem however this time i tried it for some reason it failed.

I then tried to restart the computer and all i get now is beeping and no POST.

Anyone ever had any experience with stuff like this and if so what did you do?

Do you have the bios on floppy or was it a through windows update?

If the former, you might be able to attempt a bios flash recovery depending on whether the motherboard supports it or not.

If it's the latter, you're probably screwed. What motherboard is it?

The bios is on a USB stick but that is the version of the bios i was trying to flash to.

The motherboard is an Asus M2N-E Sli.

If you have the original motherboard disk and a good bios on floppy or flash drive, you can use the autorecovery setup.

I'll give it a go i thought draining the CMOS might make a difference and i'm about to go see if it has it's been draining for 2 hours and i'll try recovering the bios off the USB stick.

Sorry for the DP but do you think i could download a fresh bios off this pc onto the USB stick and try it that way Dolph? Cheers.

That would be my tactic. Download a fresh bios and then try to get the autorecovery tool to work (using the motherboard software CD), if a simple cmos reset doesn't cut it.

Problem is there's no display... so i cant actually see if anything is happening

so i'm sat here anxiously waiting for 4 beeps xD

Alright now im completely baffled.... took one stick of RAM out of the PC and it posted and booted fine.... o.0

Your ram needs a higher voltage than that delivered by default settings?

Had you any non-standard settings prior to the BIOS upgrade?

If so you should have reverted to standard prior to BIOS upgrading, then replaced them.

This. Mine needs 2.1v, bios defaults to 1.8v after flash
