BIOS wont reset

I posted this in the motherboard forum but have had no replys. Im desperate to get my computer working again. Any help would be very much apreaciated.

I just updated to F10 using @BIOS, the computer wont boot at all. I cant get into the bios. I have tried to take the battery out for 1min to try and reset the bios but this hasnt worked. Any ideas on how to get my computer running again?

leave the battery out for 5mins or more and unplug the power of the mobo then restart it, oh and also take the chip off the board and re-seat it this some times resets the board too.
 
The computer just sits there, nothing on screen, no beeps, no reseting but all the fans are running. The hard drive light comes on for a few seconds then goes off.

What chip were you talking about Willis?
 
Sorry to scare you but i had the same problem when i used @BIOS. For some reason it seemed to install the bios twice at the same time. In the end i had to RMA my Mobo. Exactly the same symptoms as you.
 
It wasn't with overclockers but you should be ok if you tell them your mobo just died and don't mention you updated the bios as this would mean it is your fault (i think it says this in the manual).
 
I have the exact same problem bushmins :) but i have exams so this is a good thing for me lol. Anyway i think i overclocked too much now when i turn it on nothing fans spin etc but the beep doesn't come. Tryed taking out the battery for one minute but nothing. How exactly are you meant to short those 2 pins on the ds3 because i haven't tried that method yet ?

I had exactly the same problem with my DS3 too when trying to flash using @BIOS. Ended up RMA'ing the board. No idea what the point of dual bios is, if it doesn't help prevent problems like this. Sticking with F4 bios now.
 
I RMA the board to the supplier so hopefully they will sort.

I phoned Gigabyte and spoke to tech support. The guy there said that they do not recommend using @BIOS, instead to use the function in CMOS to download and flash the chip. They also said ANY inturuption during the download in windows WILL muck everything up, just like i have seen.

Im a bit dubious as to weather i should even start to up date BIOS again. Is the CMOS way of updating BIOS easy? I sent the manual back with the board so i cant read the instructions. :rolleyes:
 
Why would Gigabyte even put the @BIOS program on a driver disc with the motherboard and put it in the manual to say it is the easiest way to update the bios and then have the cheek to tell you not to use it. It does look like a few of us have wrecked our mobo's with @BIOS.
 
I used @BIOS twice and it worked great.

Although I didn't trust the program to download the BIOS for me, I downloaded the BIOS with firefox and loaded it up from disk in @BIOS.

I think it works fine if you don't let it do the downloading off the 'net...

Also make sure you're doing NOTHING whilst it's running
