hi, i am planning to update my bios. But I dont have floppy drive, can bios be updated through dvd? or cd?

And on evga's website, it says bios can be done thro the nvidia system update tool, how reliable is this?

Many thanks.

There should be a way to update it using a USB stick, but it depends on your mobo though. You haven't given too many specifics on what mobo it is other than it being EVGA, can we assume it's one of the 680i ones?

I would say pretty reliable, I do prefer doing it through mddos on bootup though, saying that I've updated my bios using a windows express installer on my intel boards for a few years now and it's been fine, you may have seen this tread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17668612, that was on a EVGA using the 'nvidia system update tool' so things can go pair shaped, if you want to make a cd boot-up disk then you can get an image/iso for one here, http://www.biosmods.com/download.php.

If you read the last page of that thread I linked you it seems 'AWBbox' ended up using awdflash.exe 8.67 in the end to flash his mobo, that can be obtained from here http://www.opendrivers.com/freedown...67-windows-9x-me-2000-xp-xp-x64-download.html

Eh mate, I tried using the nvidia update centre, when I load bios, it sayd bios ids does not match etc etc, any ideas?

And what makes a bootable cd? Are all cd bootable?

Its aight mate, juz bought the pen drive lol. I will just follow the pen drive guide on the evga forum, much easier.

But I was wondering about the nvidia update centre thingy. I kept getting this error:
