thanks just removed battery found it under the graph card.....battery out now thanksthanks tries that and when i power up it still wants the password?
cant get past the screen bios password...i think password stopping from booting....do you think motherboard is the fault? wont boot to windows. Will it boot too windows ? is it just a bios password, ie a password stopping you from getting into the bios or is it a password stopping it from booting ?
The clear cmos and removal of the battery should have cleared any bios password.
i disconnected all ssd hdd still the same...took out 3 mem sticks...only msi aero connected....dont no what else to do...to get into windows. Are you sure it's a BIOS password, or maybe is the drive encrypted?
yes removed plug unpluged from pc then removed battery. When you removed the CMOS battery, you also turned off PSU and unplugged from wall power socket?
got it sorted...unpluged the psu from motherboard for a few hrs plug all back together and all working...thanks all for your helpGo to local pc shop and ask for a spare jumper should be no more than 10p or free and then try it as it seems the cmos isnt being cleared properly
thanks need to pay more attention in futureI did tell you after removing the power cable from the PC to hit the power button a few times to drain the caps in the PSU, otherwise, the caps store power for what can be a fair few hours, so even removing the cmos battery doesnt help as the PSU is still saving the settings with the power remaining the the main caps.
