Bioshock 1 settings

I'm new to steam and bioshock so please be gentle. Anyone experience or know how to sort this problem? Whenever I start bioshock it windows on the left hand side of my screen. And I have to then change the settings about to get it to full screen. Odd thing is it still windows even with the resolution set to how it should be. Any ideas on it saving my settings and launching into full screen?

Try turning on windowed mode in the settings (or "fullscreen" or whatever it says in the settings), quitting the game, then loading it up and turning windowed mode off, quitting and then load it up again to see if "windowed mode off" has stuck
