Ok since I've finished Deus Ex I decided I would turn my hand to Bioshock 2 which I've had for a while now but not played.

Now its a retail version and I've installed it without any problems, however, when I attempt to launch the game I get the error message:

"Games For Windows- Live s not installed, our outdated. Please install the latest Games For Windows- Kuve from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=128962."

Having read a previous thread on here I attempted some port forwarding, I've tried uninstalling and re-installing GWL multiple times with what is deffinatly the latest version, I have no problems logging into GWL or using it with other games like Dirt 3, batman AA etc.

It seems absolutly ridiculous to me that this DRM is stopping me playing a game which is paid for, no doubt if I was playing some dodgy version I would not have this much grief. Also I dont even want to play multiplayer only single player!!!

If anybody has encountered anything like this and has a solution I would be greatful.

As long as your using the latest GFWL client you will get a prompt to patch via GFWL (last patch was end of May this year for the Minervas Den DLC-which is excellent BTW) if this is not happening ensure your game is activated via Securom as its not a game you can ever copy/paste if you reinstall an OS or fancy moving to another drive letter.

Are you sure your using an online GFWL profile to play your other GFWL games like Dirt3 online vs other players???

yep, I just checked, i have GFWL V3.5 and it works in dirt 3 multiplayer perfectly fine. My account is ok, it seems to me that bioshock 2 isnt opening the right version of GFWL or looking in the right place for it. I'm going to uninstall GFWL and bioshock 2 a bit later and try doing a re-install then a patch then put GFWL on last and see if that helps.
