I loved the first game. Just wonderful atmosphere and fun as hell.

I really want to get the second one (and maybe Assasin Creed 2), but reviews like this on amazon has got me thinking twice...

"[bioshock 2] like Assasin Creed 2 has got a new form of DRM for all their PC games which will require a constant internet connection to play their games.

If you get disconnected while playing youre booted out of the game. All your progress since the last checkpoint or savegame is lost and your only options are to quit to Windows or wait until youre reconnected.
"

Is this really correct? This sounds like pure madness and punishing customers.

Ha, thanks. Did a search but didn't spot that. :)

Now... how long until they raise the white flag and release a patch that ends the madness... probably never, but that's what it would take for me to buy these games. Guess I'll wait a year until they are released in a bargain bin without drm...

Bioshock 2 DOES NOT have same DRM system as UBI's new games (It isn't a UBI game).
It requires games for windows live & will not kick you out of the game if you lose your internet connection. You can create an offline games for windows live account.

Ah thanks for that clarification. So seems the reviewer didn't check the facts then (like me... but I wasn't writing a review). Annoying, but not quite as damning that it requires windows live.
