Bioshock Boxed Version?

Planning to buy this off a website for much cheaper than steam offers it. Once installed is it possible to add to 'my games' on steam and register it so i dont have to insert the dvd?

I dont belive it would work like that iam afread.
the add to steam bit, just adds a short cut of the game into steam so you can click from there.

You can launch it from Steam, but if its not Steam Supported you won't be able to download it from Steam in the future.

i have bioshock but i never tried it do what u trying to do. i think let me try it ill get back to you

no it does not work u can add it as non steam games. and crack the game if u dont want to put the cd/dvd in

Pretty silly to think it would do that.

You could then just sell the game or take it back giving you a free game.

(Yes I know you can actually do it with a few unknown games)

Maybe if they had a systems where you had to insert the disk every 7 days would be good, if they could eliminate any type of piracy that could fake it.

Can you not just add the serial number into steam to activate it, and then download it via steam. I have just done that with Left 4 Dead.

They're the only games you can aadd to steam using your retail cd-key.

You can add shortcuts to the games exe if you like, this does not let you download the game or updates from steam.
