Basically finally downloaded the Bioshock demo (did it from Xfire so it is reliable). And now when I click the setup it says:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item"

The hell? im administrator and the only one who uses this PC.

whats the downloaded file look like? a single exe file? i extracted the exe file i had to a seperate directory so all files were decompressed, then i ran the setup.exe file.

Yeah I just extracted the folder to my desktop. The file .exe is just the default .exe icon. Not an icon of bioshock or what not.

Tried moving the .exe file but it just says it's in use access denied etc.

thats odd. if you got winrar or something, run a archive test scan on it to see if any files are corruped. failing that, extract the entire exe file contensts to a folder on your hard drive and not desktop since sometimes extracted stuff to desktop has issues.

Ok no errors found on archive test. Made a folder on C: and extracting to that now. Still says the same crap :( .

God dammit, I know what it'll be. It's AVG for sure, I remember it did this with Stalker, so I'll unninstall it again.

That's weird - I installed it no probs wit AVG running.

So did I but yesterday's avg update and overnight scan quarantined about 3 files all called setup.exe on my machine.

It's just AVG having a bad day for false positives.

Not really it deleted Stalker's game .exe because it thought it was a virus
