I am having problems too - plays fine but the sound goes off just after the plane crash and then when I press the volume buttons on my laptop they bring up menus instead???

Dont think anyone had problems in the big thread, I'd check over at the 2k forums.

Yeah my logitech keyboard volume control does that, it does change the volume though.

tried to clock your system back to stock speeds?

no, but im confident that a small overclock is not what is causing this, when ive seen others running it with heavily oc cpus and gfxs

If you are on Vista run the demo in XP Compatability mode and you will get sound, however it will most likely be stuttery bad quality sound. I have the same problem with my card as im using forced 3rd party drivers to get any sound out of it at all, it's a first gen SB:Live must be some 8 years old, so naturaly not supported by Vista or even creative labs anymore.

Nope, tried that and it still doesn't work! I'm not running an old sound card either - it's a DELL XPS M1710 laptop which is only just over a year old so it should run fine. I read on the 2K forums that another guy was having the same prob as me and he had a DELL system also with the same built in sound as me. There was not a solution posted to his problem though!!!

Just dl the demo and im having problems :p
I got onto the main menu changed the settings to max except the dx10 ones of course. And i clicked onto play demo then i got a blue screen and my pc restarted :(

Yeah same problem as you :( But it doesn't even get into the taskbar, just thinks then forgets!

ah no mine doesnt even get that far. it appears in the task manager as bioshock.exe, then goes after few seconds.

getting too annoyed with this game and i havent even played it yet

Got sound working now - went to Dell.co.uk and had to download and install the official drivers again!!! :D
