Bioshock Inifinite is making me dizzy

It could be just me...

I've recently started to play Bioshock Infinite, love the game; but for the first time (ever) I'm starting to get a little dizzy when playing it. I've played tons of FPS in the past, never had an issue like this so I don't think its related to the game; I have reduced the mouse sensitivity, which helped a little.

That being said, could it be the size of my new monitor? I recently replaced my old Dell 24" monitor with an Asus 27" VG278 backlight 144hz display. Could it be caused by the larger panel/view? :confused:
 
Sometimes get it myself from too low/too high FoV values in games... have you tried to changing the FoV in the options?
 
The default mouse settings (beyond just sensitivity) are pretty bad for causing this as they are quite "swingy" see my post here (what settings work best for you will probably vary a bit from what I posted depending on setup and preferences):

If your using Windows 7 or higher might also want to take a look at Mark C's mouse fix here:

As this makes the mouse movement more predictable which also helps.

It could be the 144hz, some people have upgraded to it and found the refresh rate causes them to feel dizzy
 
I had to do the mouse movement fix that Rroff suggested and also the unofficial fov extender. Combined (and turning off any blur-tastic effects such as DoF) these made the game playable for me without it becoming Bileshock.

Have you tried playing with the FOV, if you've gone up a monitor size and res but sit at the same distance, then changing the FOV might help.
 
I have travel sickness bands that i use to play fps games, I could barely play 5 minutes of the star trek voyager fps without them. With and was still playing 2 hours later :D
 
Ha ha! that's something I haven't tried yet, changing the FoV.

And to be honest it didn't even occur to me to try sitting a little farther away from the monitor...I'm glad I asked.
 
Thing is there are some FIXES that wont work for certain people, like myself... Bioshock Infinite was unplayable with ANY fov adjustments e.t.c

Ended up feeling sick for two days because of this game, thus I never touched it again. It came down to the way the buildings move up and down in the sky and that the game is fast paced at times.

Never tried a sickness band though
 
I'm glad you brought this up because I get the same thing. I dropped my mouse sensitivity down a lot as well, which helped. I think it's the movement in the game. It feels very linear and doesn't feed back visually very well. Oddly enough, i feel like a bit of head bob would actually help that, or a slight acceleration/decelleration when moving and stopping to reduce the abrupt feeling of it.

I may try sitting further back as well!
 
I got this too. For me it was the zooming in when running. I played around with the fov but since then just haven't bothered to play it. Interesting game but now joining my large pile of never finished games.

If reducing mouse sensitivity helps look at the first link in my post - out the box the mouse input in the game is erratic and inconsistant which means that what actually happens to your viewpoint doesn't tie up very well to what you instinctively expect for your input = increased chance of experiencing effects of motion sickness.

Hi guys, I finished the game over the weekend and didn't get dizzy at all. I simply moved my monitor back per your suggestion; it's now about three inches away from the wall, and didn't have to adjust the FoV. So for me, adjusting the mouse sensitivity and moving the monitor back was the trick. Thank you again everyone.
