Bioshock looks dreadful on PS3

To be honest i think anyone who really wanted to play this game would have obtained it on the PC or 360 by now (especially considering how cheap the 360 is these days). The majority of the type who pick this up will be unlikely to know or even care about bad ports, hence why the devs made it one. :)

[EDIT] I'd also like to add, there isn't much in it in my eyes. The PS3 version seems to be ever so slightly softer

All multi games are similar like that. Probably comparable to the image quality arguments between nvidia and ATI owners. I think it's simply differences in ways the rendering is done.

yes, going buy those screenshots Bioshock looks dreadful on PS3, so much that im going to hang myself.

There is no difference apart from being softer on the PS3 in one screenshot

there's more use of hdr in the ps3 pics (neons glow more) and it is softer in all the shots. and there's that black level issue with the 360 shots i mentioned. im sorry but i couldnt sit there and say theres no difference lol. go to specsavers tbh :p

Shot 1 -can't see a difference tbh
Shot 2 & 3 - the PS3 version seems to have more blur, the wall tiles in the 360 version look a lot better, yet the floor tiles look just wrong with the sheen..
Shot 4 - the PS3 version looks better, especially the lack of AA in the 360 version on the ceiling light/skyline.

I was just commenting in the PS3 store update thread.

After loving the PC version which I completed I just found BioShock on the PS3 very jerky. The frame rate seems 20-25fps, I was hoping it would glide along like COD4.

From looking at the screens, there does appear to be a softness on the PS3 version, but it is graphically the same other than this, it certainly is nowhere near dreadful as the OP puts it.

I had Bioshock on my 360 and recently played the demo on my PS3, can’t say I noticed anything wrong or different, other than the dead Big Daddy – looking at the textures on that it looked appalling; the skin showed lots of pixilation and iirc the 360 showed this as a nice shiny surface.

So, other than this observation, I personally couldn’t see any real difference between the 360 and PS3 versions, I no longer own this game on 360 though, so can only go by memory.

Scort.
