Bioshock on 4870X2

Looking forward to trying this on the 4870 1gig, the 7900 just wasn't doing it justice.
I thought it ran very nicely at 1900x1200 on the 4850 though, looked great.

was pretty playable on my OC'd 8800GT with max settings at 1920x but there was a couple of places in arcadia where it would drop to 30fps...

my 260 just owns the game.

Rroff, I'm considering buying a GTX 260 Maxcore, but I'm hesitating and need someone to tell me it's a good idea!

Is your Q6600 overclocked at all? What games really push the card - are there any where it really slows down, or is it just the inevitable Crysis? :p Are you running Vista & DX10 or XP?

Its not a bad idea any who... as to if its a good idea it depends on how well you get on with the 4870 - my experiences with it were far from ideal. But on the face of it the 4870 is the faster and slightly cheaper card - tho not by much.

My Q6600 is overclocked but once you get past 3gig theres not much difference in ingame performance.

Personally I have no regrets buying the 260 maxcore - its cool, quiet, stable and gives adequate performance in everything I throw at it (except stalker clear sky on maximum sun light settings - but that would bring a 4870X2 crossfire to its knees).
