Bioshock reviews

A game that I enjoyed and would last a long time?

Amazingly enough not everyone has the same opinions about things...
Of course, it's just even mentioning the price is an odd way of saying you don't like a game. I wasn't even sure until now if your original comment was tongue in cheek or not.

Well, if the game was priced 15 - 20 pounds then I'd probably pick it up as the demo was good, but for me 32.99 is a bit too much for a game that I'd probably get bored of quickly. I'll probably end up renting it someday.

That'll look far better than the 360 version, I've got the same spec but with the X1950XT and Im getting the PC version.

Same again :) Really hoping it plays max at 1680x1050, don't want to upgrade the GFX until UT3 to be honest :(

This is the reason why I bought a console, £900 paid for a PC 2 years ago and now its out of date, I got my 360 £300 at the same time, do I get a game for £29 and play it on my xbox 360 or spend £700-800 upgrading my pc with graphics card, cpu, memory, to play the same game.

NO

but its not like your going to only play it for a couple of hours, surely you'll play it all the way through? otherwise its like saying your only going to watch half a film

Yeah check if you can play it after you download!

Someone peaked in the incomplete .zip while they were downloading;

Isn't the game only 20 hours long with little replay value? For a lot of people that's not worth spending £40 on.

I don't think the length of Bioshock can be used against it, certainly not as far as a single player experience goes.

Off the top of my head:

Gears - 8 to 10 hrs
Graw 2 - 6 to 8 hrs
Vegas - 8 to 10 hrs
Call of Duty 2 - 7 to 9 hrs
The Darkness - 8 to 10 hrs

20 hrs is well above the average for this type of game nowadays.

The presence of multiplayer in those game may be where they make up the difference, but Bioshock really isn't where you should be looking for a MP shooter.

well it has multiple endings plus you can develop your characters different ways and take on the game different ways so id say it has plenty of replay value.

Bioshock is a brilliant game, probably the best out this year atm. I would say its better than half life 2 and has the same gripping feel of playing half life 1 for the first time. The story line has twists and turns, although it is linear it doesnt feel like it.

Its a shame you had to steal it and boast about how good it was, I hope you buy it when its released.
