Hi guys,

I am having slow loading levels/times on bioshock for some reason.

I used to have an ATI radeon X1950 Pro which had display problems in bioshock so I downloaded the ATI driver fix. The slow loading seemed to start shortly after.

I now have the following:

E6750 @ 3.4Ghz
4 Gb 6400 DDR2
Geforce GT 8800 512mb
Forceware 169.21

I dont fancy having to re-install bio-shock so just in case anyone has had the same scenario and could guide me in the right direction that would be cool.

This game is run 1400 x 1050 all settings high, someone tells me it is due to all the shaders being loaded in the background. Could this be the case?

How slow is slow?
I seem to recall it took a while, maybe 30s or so. Not a big problem for me as I didn't backtrack much.

More likely to do with RAM, HDD and fragmentation of your drive it's running from. Also background applications.

I would probably check your hard disk, when I upgraded my aging WD 120GB SATA to a new 500GB Seagate SATA II i noticed loading times in game such as Portal reduce quite a lot.
