Bioshock small question

After a long time I started playing Bioshock again but I am a bit confused, I can remember having a Fire Plasmid but in my last savegame it is gone and I can't remember what I did, I have the defualt bolt one and a Telekinesis one, can it be that the Telekinesis one replaced the Fire one and if so how can I get the fire one back?

If you want to swap out one plasmid for another you have to visit a gene bank. Don't know how far you are into the game this time but the first gene bank is found in Neptune's Bounty.

I am at the point where I just had the choice of harvesting or not near the Medical Pavillion, is that close?

A little while to go yet to be honest. What probably happened is when you got your new plasmid you were given the choice to swap it with one of your old ones. The game allows you to do this so you can start using new plasmids right away without having to get to a gene bank.

That sounds like it, I thought it was just a case of choosing which one to use but apparently I can only change them at certain points in the game, damn.
