hi guys i have the latest 163.67 drivers and the latest hotfixes but playing bioshock have a slight problem. game is really smooth with vsync on, but get the odd little slow down sometimes is this a problem with the game itself vista or my machine be interested to know your opions with ppl using vista with bioshock in direct x 10 mode.

If V-sync is on and the framerate drops below the refreshrate of the monitor the framerate is halved so with a TFT running at 60Hz it means the framerate drops to 30fps, so either disable V-sync, lower detail to have a framerate that is always >60fps or force triple buffering so it drops to 40fps instead of 30fps.

As above, get rid of vsync if you can't tollerate the stutter. For vsync to work well, you need a minimum fps of 60+.

Personally I never use it. I'd rather have the odd bit of tearing than the big fps drops.
