I'm going to play through it before maybe getting Infinite. I've owned it for years but never got round to playing (Steam sales, ey ). Are there any graphical tweaks or mods I can do to it to make it feel less 'old'?

Don't think there are any mods for it tbh. I played it recently and it didn't feel old at all. In fact, I thought it still looked great. It has a distinctive style to it that sets it apart so that 'state-of-the-art' graphics are not an issue imo....In a similar way to Dishonored.

I would think a sweetfx config would probably be the best you could do.

EDIT- PS I haven't actually looked for Bioshock mods in ages, but when I did, there were none.

Played through Bioshock again recently and I would agree with the above comment about it not feeling 'old' and having a distinctive style.

Still a very nice looking game IMO.

Cool, I might just go for it without tweaks then. Stylized graphics do help games age well.

Did you play with a pad or keyboard? I'm after playing on my TV so want to use a 360 pad, what's the compatibility like?

Pretty sure it is the same as the 360 version, so the pad will work fine. I played it with a pad(on my laptop)and with kb/m(desktop)....It really will come down to what you will feel more comfortable with. It is a shooter, but it is not fast paced shooting(you will not be using sniper rifles or machine guns...well, much anyway) so aiming should be fine so long as this isn't the first time you are ever using a pad;)

tbh, you will almost certainly end up using the shotgun anyway, so aiming will be of little importance:p...and plasmids don't need precise aiming.

I'm assuming Steam will handle the patching?

I'm not new to pads on shooters. I've just built a nice little setup to connect my PC to my living room TV with a long HDMI cable and use Big Picture Mode and a wireless pad, so fancy playing on that if there's no issues with the pad.

Bioshock 1 is really good. My view of it at release was slightly clouded because it was being called the new Half-Life 2, which it is not (nor is anything else)

as far as im aware, infinate is only loosely linked with bioshock,so i dont think you need to play 1 or 2 first, however i recommend you do,2 is the opposite to 1 !!!

Yeah I know there is little to link 1 and 2 to Infinite, but it has made me think I should probably get round to playing it, especially as it seems to have been a decent game.

I've been told by most people I can skip 2 though without missing out on much.

Yea, really don't bother with 2. It's not that great, not bad, if you get it on the cheap. I paid full price, regretted it. My second most regretful game purchase actually lol... Fable 3 collectors edition for the 360 being at the top.
