Biostar 200n

When I swithced on my Biostar 200N tonight it took me into a screen saying windows did not start up correctly, press enter to continue boot normally or enter safe mode etc. When I hit enter to start normally it brings up the Windows XP screen then afer a few mins it shuts down, boots up gives the EM above and loops. I get the same problem when I user safe mode. I dont hear any disk activity at all.

This happened a few months back with another make of HDD. With that one if I re-imaged the disk it would boot up into Windows (however the HDD thrashed continuously)

Any Ideas?

Try 'Last known good configuration' as this is quite often a driver issue or maybe a corrupted windows update.

That did not work either.

A friend of mine had the same problem, he overheated his his, min problem began after I put the sides of the case back on and I had been running it for weeks on end, so I might have the same problem.

what amke of hard drive is it??? you could try getting a drive tool disk and see if that even detects it, and if it find any errors with it.

by drive tool i mean like maxblast for maxtors and hte one for western digital (cant rememebr what its called). but both of these run in dos off either a bootable cd or floppy drive i think, so should be a good test
