Is the 890fx board any good ?

Nice to see Biostar back in the game again. I was building hundreds of them about ten years ago. They were very understated boards with solid performance and a good price point.

We sold loads of Biostar iDeq's which outsold Shuttle 2:1 due to build quality and quietness. Still got my AMD 3000 with 2GB ram, and its running Win7 Premium no probs... its years old!

I just ordered the 890FX board, although there is no usb3.0, i figured by the time i use usb3.0 the pci cards wont be all that expensive

I've had 2 Asus boards die on me and a Gigabyte board. Not a single Biostar board has given up on me yet.
Biostar are not **** by any stretch of the imagination, you must have just got unlucky. I've been very happy with Biostar for years and years. Speak as you find, I'd highly recommend them

Biostar boards are generally a lot more reliable than Asus or Gigabyte alternatives.
