I feel like I'm showing my age with a board this old but anyway...
Background:
My younger brother built this machine a while ago (AMD Phenom x3 720), and has recently started getting a problem where the machine won't post, but the fans will whirr up and down (power button must be held to poweroff, but don't need to turn off at the psu). I've got it here to lave a look and have repro'd the fault *intermittently* at my house - I've been able to rule out everything except PSU, mobo, RAM and CPU (yeah, everything that could be a problem) before the bloody thing started working again.
When the issue does manifest, there are 2 LED indicators on the board. LED_01 will flash at just over twice a second, and every second flash, the other (LED_02) will flash (for a MUCH shorter time mind). The manual of course, doesn't list led error codes, just beeps.
Anybody any insight on what this could represent? I've got it running memtest for now with just the potential problems plugged in and it's not error'd yet (@47%).
It is possible that there's a mechanical problem, I'm not ruling anything out (although nothing looks burnt anywhere), but I'd sure like to know what those LED's are trying to tell me...
