Biostar Tpower I45 or?

Great to see the pics up, khemist. Mine should be delivered (from the same company) early next week :D I've already paid and reserved one, so they've said as soon as the new stock comes in on Monday mine will be in the post. I can't wait to see what this thing can do

The only thing that does put me off slightly (but didn't stop me buying it) is the quality of the manual and their site in general. Most of the top mobo manufacturers are Taiwanese/Chinese/Korean, but the bigger names still manage to present a decent translation of the manual. Biostar's is patchy pidgin English at best, but that said they're obviously dedicated to the overclocking market and seem to stand by their products, so...

I'll post back when I get mine, then a bit later we can see what the I45 does for E0 Q9550s :p

The jumpers have to be moved if you are going to use X fire and that place on the auction site is selling the tp45 HP not the I45 :) i ordered that by mistake and then had to pay the difference.

That's a bit of a pain. Thought they would have done that automatically like other boards. Then again, it is cheaper too.

Have you built it then? :D:D:D

We need benchies and opinions. :D

Was planning on setting it up when the 150gb velociraptors are out, not sure when that will be.. soon i hope.

I've just had a read through of the manual and it's very clear and straight forward did you check this one on the site ? http://download.biostar.com.tw/upload/Manual/IP45A-A7P_080813_B.zip

Yeah that's the one :) As I said I know I'm just nit picking, which is why it didn't stop me buying the board. Compared to the Gigabyte EP45 manual though (which is much more detailed, and almost flawless English) it just seemed... worse LOL :D

I can't wait to get it though. Roll on next week (just in time for E0 Q9550s, win!).

EDIT: BTW, I know the socket is slightly high on the board compared with most socket 775s. Can you confirm just how high? With a TT or TRUE installed is it likely to be high enough to interfere with the top mounted PSU in a standard mid ATX tower? I might have to buy a Three Hundred.

Cheer's. :D:D:D

It still says "Rainmaker has no contact information."

That's weird  One for the Dons/Admin then, I suppose. Here's what it should look like, but with part of the details blanked out due to this being a public part of the forum:

ocuk-trust-enabled.png

As you can see, I have entered my details and Trust is set to enabled as well. So, I dunno lol Oh, and you're welcome :D

My fault. I was'nt looking at trust. I just checked your contact details. Completely forgot about trust. Oh no. I'm a Noob!! :o

Ah... No that's the public part of my profile, I've left that deliberately blank. If you click the "Trust" button on the lower right of one of my posts, it should let you log in (even though you're already logged into the forum). Then close the pop up box, and click my Trust again. That time it'll pop up with my trust details (including contact info). Give it a go and see if it works.

BTW, your own public profile says no contact information just like mine. But your Trust also has your email address listed - just like mine :)

Hi,

Is there any other recommendations for a E8600 CPU based motherboard apart from the Biostar I45?

I will be looking to use either SS Rotary or a Cascade Rotary (depending on how much I want to fork out).

Rest of the setup is as follows:

E8600 CORE2 DUO 3.33GHz
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB PC2-8500
Samsung 1TB F1 Spinpoint HDD
XFX 9800GTX Black Edition
Thermaltake W0132RB 1000W PSU
Windows XP most likely

Your advice is much appreciated, the reason for the question is the supplier I used for the I45 shipped out a TP45 HP (i.e. wrong board). Therefore I am open to other suggestions :)

Cheers

imramb

you mentioned that the supplier of the I45 sent you the TP45 HP - may I ask whether they listed BOTH motherboards showing pictures of and labelled as "TPower", but key difference being I45 of the two?

Probably the same supplier who still hasn't managed to send my board after two weeks (incorporating three promised deliveries), takes two days to answer an email, and doesn't answer the phone :(

I spent ten hours waiting for the courier today, after I was promised that the item had been dispatched by their supplier direct (to save them getting the stock and forwarding it - to 'save me time after my inconvenience'). It didn't turn up, and my emails have so far gone unanswered. FAIL

I'll be looking for a different mobo at this rate. P5Q Deluxe, P45 Platinum, EP45-DS3R, hmm... If only OcUK stocked this board, I'd have been saved my suffering :(

Rainmaker - I feel for you! Companies giving empty promises.

So essentially, they're selling two different boards but have worded product descriptions which could potentially mislead?
