how is the biostar x58a seen as an overclocking board at the min i am stable @4.3 ghz,but im wondering if i can push this chip further with a diffrent board.the reason im asking is i have a couple of hundred quid burning a hole in my pocket and am in two minds whether to get a new board or another 5870 to xfire

An i7 at 4.3 stable is good!

Don't know about the 'A' version but the original X58 got good rep on Xtremesystems.org, most people won't touch a board if it's not Asus or Gigabyte though.

The A version is actually better for overclocking despite the lack of heat pipe cooling.

thats why i pulled of the northbridge and replaced it with a waterblock
