Bird of prey?

I'm sitting in the dining room doing some work on the laptop when I catch sight of a group of magpie's out the corner of my eye. They seemed to be "fighting" with another bird who then went jackie chan on their asses and killed one of them.

Any idea's what it could be? I never expected to see a bird of prey in middle of Walsall...

(Unfortunately I had to use the crappy digital zoom on the k800i)

looks more like a sparrow hawk to me, would be more in their nature to kill another bird aswell

probably just making a point, magpies usually steal other birds eggs so he went and sorted them out, i once saw a sparrow hawk take a crow in mid air lol

my 2 cats one caught a sparrow hawk we had to safe the bird and call rspca.

i've seen a magpie take out a blackbird in mid-flight before

BTW the Peregrine Falcon is the greatest bird of prey IMO :cool:

maybe a harris hawk . i wouldnt think it was a sparrow hawk
sparrow hawk too small for a crow
and harris hawks are trained on crows (or what ever the trainers want to target) hares, rabbits , etc)
