So for about the third time recently I've been woken up by this. And yes I mean the feathered kind.. Last night we were woken up at 3.30am by a couple of birds in the trees tweeting and whistling away. It's unbelievably annoying!

are you near a lamp post? i'm pretty sure it's robins that get up early when the sun first starts rising, and with a lamp post near by to their nest they will see this as the sun and get up and start singing way before they should. afaik this isn't good for them as they wont be getting the rest they need and singing throughout the night is fairly energy consuming too.

These first world problems have really been getting down lately. Think I'm gonna need some counselling in order to re-find myself.

This. Light pollution, does wildlife no good either. We've had new lamp posts fitted around where I live and they are now brighter so the birds are simply thinking it's daylight hours :(
