For anybody that doesn't know, Bassini previously owned Watford where he got up to all sorts, was made bankrupt (twice?) and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a football club. Most of the money for his takeover bid is coming in the form of a loan from David Sullivan (co owner of West Ham) and there's a lot of speculation that it's a bit of a scam (if that's the right word) with Sullivan likely to sell his stake in West Ham as soon as his agreement with the Olympic stadium comes to an end and then takeover Birmingham.

Read about his ownership of Watford and the situation with the safe. It's absolutely staggering that he's in a position where he might own another football club, even if it's just a front for David Sullivan.
