My fiancee has asked what i want for my birthday

Sigs a tad out of date so here is my setup

Antec 900 (with tight mod so no dust :D)
Q6600 at 3500mhz
Abit IP35
4gb of Geil ULL 800mhz
8800GTS 512mm
Corsair 650
MX518 mouse
Saitek II keyboard

I have around £150 to spend

My thoughts are

1. New case (maybe looking at watercooling later on)
2. New gfx card (4850 or similar)
3. A new monitor ...

Well my current monitor is a 19" WS Mirai, and seeing the Sammy 21.6" in the forums i think i'm leaning towards this a little.
Would my gfx card handle the latest games on a 22" monitor?

What would you do in my situation?

Personally i would say a 24" and put the extra cash towards it. Though the GTS might struggle a little bit, i still think it would be worth it.

That's my thougts too, but then im looking at £250 + and i havent got that money spare as my Focus is in need of a new clutch :(

22" goes very well with a 8800 GTS 512 (its what I have). 90% of games you can have 100% of the detail/AA, and if you drop the AA then most games (except Crysis) will be >60fps. 4850 would be a sideways move, 280GTX/4870X2 or nout on the graphics upgrade front.

Sounds good, my main game is COD4 and with max settings/AA i get 80-125 fps anyway and maybe in a few months i'll pick up a 4870 or smiliar.

Quite excited now :)

Any reasons NOT to get the Samsung 21.6" as mentioned above?

The 4850 would actually be an upgrade, more than a sideways move, just for the price its not worth the move.

Because a 24" is bigger :p

....and more expensive, just havent got the money mate or i would.

If i get a 24" i will most likely need to upgrade my gfx card aswell.

I went from a 17" tft to a 19" wide screen and love it so i'm sure i'll be pleased with a 22".

I'd get 24". If you can't afford it then wait. Don't just buy the smaller one because that's the money you have now. It will benefit you more in the future.
