Bit baffled

I have just upgraded my pc and now have the following specs

MB - Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R
CPU - I7 920 D0 Stepping 2.66ghz
Cooling Asus Triton 81

I have re-seated the CPU and cooler twice and with no overclocking at all the temps all hover around 39 - 43 which seems a bit high for a non standard cooler. What really confuses me is that the voltage showing in CPUID is only .928 and I haven't altered anything. Also if I run Prime the fan doesn't seem to get any faster under stress.

Any ideas would be really appreciated

Thanks for coming back to me, there is a connection for a 3 pin PWR_Fan, not sure whether thats it, everything says to connect to the CPU fan

Thats the one its connected to, it looks like I will have to have a go at a bit of overclocking...that could be fun, any ideas what I should be looking at without frying the lot

I tried prime to see how it ran without overclocking and the temperatures were pretty high, around 65-70 even popping up to 80. That seems a bit on the warm side. Just wondering now if its the Asus compund that I used, maybe should have ordered some Arctic?
