hi i am going to send my 7970 gigabyte card back, as i dont think its a very good OC for another one. Anyway i said i would like to DSR it on the phone and the person said do you want to DSR or send back under there 14 day return, so i said the 14 day return, so they are sending me an email with an RMA. I am a bit confused as i though RMA was for faulty goods.
regards.

Its ok got the email and it says RMA refund, just like i say i thught RMA was faulty only.
regards

you're welcome. and just as an aside and something to consider, rma for non-faulty goods costs you at least the return fee, and a replacement isn't guaranteed to overclock any better. i guess i wouldn't rma for coil whine or a low overclock, though i'd expect 1125/1500 since i've never heard of lower. anyway binned ghz editions are being produced already and higher overclocks aren't necessarily going to be as common anymore. that's just my personal opinion

rma means return of any kind, dsr is a specific regulation that allows you to return an item within 14 days. you are using dsr.

Just to add a little clarity, the law is for 7 working days from the next working day from delivery, it's only OCUK that currently offer 14 working days as an extra service :)

And I agree with PorkPieCat, you could get a faulty one, a worse clocked, coil whine etc, also the card is very fast before any overclock, but it's your choice, hope it works out :)

IMO you should have said DSR when asked providing it was within the 7 day cooling off period, I'm not sure of the terms of OCUK's 14 day return but if you don't notify the retailer within 7 days cooling off period that you want to return via DSR then the law will not apply, so legally OCUK could probably turn around and refuse it after 8 days has passed if their 14 day return T&C allows it.

I don't think OCUK would be that devious though. :p

I personally think returning a graphics card or any other component (i.e. CPU) because it doesn't overclock to what you deem is 'acceptable' is a very poor show (unless obviously it was sold as a overclocked product!)

Shame on you.

Well i recieved it last Tuesday so its, under 7 days.
And to the previous poster it states in the listing "hugely overclockable!" I admit if it was a 50/50 situation with the people getting good over clocks i probably wouldn't return, but 9 out ot 10 people seem to be getting better clocks at low voltage, so thats why i would like to try another card.
Also some people seem to forget this is "Oveclockers UK" thats what most people who shop here are doing, overclocking, i'm sure they expect it .
regards
