Just been looking over the overclockers product range for 775 (975X chipset) mobos, and they all say they support ATi Crossfire and then just say also dual nVidia.

From reading a bit, it seems every single one of these only support SLi with a hacked bios? Is this the case, and how come? I thought ATi were now AMD and Intel was in bed with nVidia. So how come the lack of native support on all these boards?

I don't want to get SLi straight away, but I would like to know it's an option in the future.

the support for linked gfx cards (Crossfire/SLI) is actually done by the gfx cards drivers & not the mobos. To them PCI-E slots are PCI-E slots as they are a standard.
nVidia only wants SLI to run on it's SLI chipsets so the official gfx driver looks for an SLI chipset before it will enable SLI.
It's been rumoured several times that nVidia was about to enable SLI support for 975 but it hasn't happened yet ...

just get a 680i or 650i for sli.

I ran sli 7900 GTX in crosffire 975x mobo with hacked drivers worked well but the drivers are getting on a bit now.
