Hi everyone, need a little help please.

My spec

Gigabyte Ga-p55-us3p mobo
I5 750
Patriot sector 5 viper II PC3 12800 4 gb
Corsair tx 650
Samsung spinpoint 1TB HD
NZXT Gamma black case
Gelid Tranquilllo cooler
Sony AD7240S dvd re-writer

I have just bought new graphics card and decided to add some more memory.

When I tried to find some more Patriot Viper , they seemed to be out of stock so I just bought some corsair memory with what I thought were the same timings. Not so sure now

Timings for the viper are 800MHz 8-8-8-24, and I thought the Corsair Dominator is the same.

cmp4gx3m2b1600c8 part number.

When I installed it, I ran cpu-z and it shows up as PC3-1707000H (667 MHz)

with options of 666MHz 9-9-9-24 @1.5v

Have I got the wrong memory?

The spec for the memory looks to be right to me.

Have I done something wrong for it to show up wrong?

I think that it might be my bios setting.

With the corsair stuff out, the viper is not running as I expected it to either.

This is more likely to be me not understanding exactly what I doing.

Although the bios says that it is set to 1600, not sure which bit of CPU-z bit I am supposed to be looking at.

I can't even get the viper stuff to run at top speed. It was just running at default before.

I think the problem with the new memory I got is that it can not use the XMP so when I try to use them together it does not seem to like it very much. They will run, but at slower speeds.

The Corsair stuff is going back on ebay, but would still like to know how to get my Patriot memory running sweet.
