I know you guys dont like p4's but i got one so live with it lol, as u can see in my sig ive been trying to overclock it, with no joy by the i can get it to 3.6 but freezes same at 3.4 and 3.3 it just wont go higher than 3.2, temps are 45 max ive seen, someone said on my last post because its E0 stepping i should be able to get 3.8 or close to but i just cant lol need a bit of help

What spec ram is it and what settings are you running it at?
What Vcore are you running and how stable is it?
I have one which will just do 3.675 ghz stable but needs better power regulation for more.
Have you tried memtest to make sure its processor not memory?
915 chipset is not the best clocker either, can you increase chipset voltage on that board?

They dont all clock as well as others. Some only do 3.2 then cannot go any higher.

I presume your using air to cool it.

Try upping the vcore in your Bios but this will raise temps a lot and can even kill the CPU so be careful.

Also try upping the Ram voltage a little @ a time and see how much higher you can get it.

Best P4 overclocking method seems to be using a x14 multiplier in the Bios then raising the FSB as far as it will go.

Some motherboards give up earlier than others. Also bear in mind you wont get more than 5-10 FPS in games for lower stability/longevity so is it really worth it to you for such a small gain?

Best gain for P4s recently has been any newish mobo which has native 1066-1333FSB support. Couple with DDR2-533 to DDR2-800 Ram and you can get huge overclocks without stressing the CPU as much as your lowering the multiplier to do so decreasing the stress on it.
