bit of a problem here...

hi all, i recently overclocked my processor a tad but then put it back to stock as there was no real need to keep it clocked for the time being, its a 90nm AMD 6000+

one time i started up the computer and for some reaosn the cpu fan didnt spin and i didnt realsiae until i saw my temps in the low 100's and sorted out the problem

now every now and then when i load windows, shortly after logging in it crashes - no BSOD, just freezes completely with no HDD activity or anything

was wondiering if this activity is related to either of the two incidnets i explained above, im not sure whats going on here, it seems to be crashing under load, but everything is back at stock now as far as i know

any ideas?

Have you set your memory to the manufacturers recommended voltage?

hmm yeah i was thinking about that, my mobo automatically sets it to 1.8, when the recommended is 2.1, but its been fine at 1.8 before all of this and ive nver had any problems, do u think that might be the cause?

I would set it to 2.1v just to rule out the possibility. Its recommended for a reason

lol, i guess so =P ill give that a try in a few minutes, the more i think about it the more it seems likely given the circumstances, its just weird how its started happening now, lol ahh well, thanks for the help mate
