Hi guys,

So let me give you a few details first before i ask my question.

I work in a 96 bed hostel for adults with support needs, twice daily we have a "handover" meeting where we discuss everything that has happened in the last 24 hours.

We currently use a "logging" system, a big file with a piece of paper for every room. If something happens, you log it, highlight the room number and then its gets handed over.
We have are planning a move to a logging system via our shared network drive. You open the floor plan, click the room number and the log notes pop up.

Now for the question! Can we use a tablet to access this information? It would have to be able to connect to the wifi and the network drive. It Would also have to open office documents. Bigger the better screen wise also.

This is all it would be used for.

Sorry for the wall of text and i look forward to any replies.

if you had for example an android tablet and google drive than job done.

you could do the same with Ipad and dopbox I suppose or a windows tablet and onedrive. I am assuming you would want the docs shared so multiple people can access them from different places.

you get some sort of office software with some android tablet and the Microsoft ones come with office as standard AFAIK

Google drive isn't an option, this needs to be incredibly user friendly. I can put office on the tablet, we have copies. The documents we need it to view are all accessible on out wifi network.

I simply need to know if a tablet can do those things and if so some recommendations :)
