Bit of a strange question

I built my computer myself and was expecting a lot more problems than I got so for that I'm grateful but I've done quite a few tests on my GPU (Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070) and it's running at about 59c/62c under extremely heavy load and a friend of mine says that's way too low and I've obviously done something wrong.
I haven't water cooled it or replaced the thermal paste or anything, I just plugged it in from the box.
I have a Lian-Li 011 Dynamic case with 6 be quiet silent wings 3 140mm case fans (3 intake at the front and 3 exhaust at the top) and one 80mm rear exhaust fan behind the cpu cooler (Mugen 5 PCGH edition)
I've never had any crashing or other issues at all since I built it in November/December so you'd think I should just be happy but my friend has worried me.

My question even though it sounds silly is, Do I need to worry because it runs so cool or have I just got really lucky with my first build?

Which model of Gigabyte 3070 do you have as some cooling solutions are better than others.

The tempatures you have seem fine for this time of year and your not getting any system problems and the fan setup you have seems good also but I'm sure some others will be able to help you out as they may have the same card and/or case.

LOL first time I've seen someone query whether a GPU is too cool !! Your friend quite frankly is an ass. Those temps as have been said are really good and where you should be at. Sounds like your friend is a bit jealous and is giving you false information. He is taking the michael.

If the card runs fine then it is fine. :)

Thank you, yeah I think there may be some jealousy as his 3070 gets much hotter but that sounds like a him problem :D

What is the “extremely heavy load” you are talking about.?

This.

Also...

- Card fans on default or custom curve?
- Download Quake II RTX (free on Steam), play for 5 mins and report back your temps. If it's still only 62c max - that's not right for an air cooled ampere card

You seem to have a nice dual heatsink/ three fan setup on your card that tend to be the higher end cooling setups so maybe its your friends computer thats the problem. :D

What the friend could be suggesting, though not putting in across very well, is that the card could be underperforming thus displaying lower than expected temperatures.
If you’ve ruled this out with benchmarks etc then tell your friend (s)he should **** off and stick to playing consoles :p

I think that's normal for the card.

These cooling setup are used for 3080 and 3090 for Gigabyte, they are designed to cool up to 450W, it is a serious overkill for a 3070 imo.

I have a Gigabyte 3060Ti and sometimes the fan sometimes turn off during extended gaming with the card only slightly warm to the touch, and yes the 3d mark scores are normal.

What is the GPU utilisation showing as? If you are e.g. CPU limited it could be that when you think it's heavily loaded it isn't. Although seems unlikely if you've run furmark.

Don't worry about it, it just means you have a good efficient working heatsink setup on the card. Anyone saying something different is either confused or green eyed.
I've the 3080TUF which is known for having excellent cooling out of the box, something in the region of 15°C lower than others.
Mine runs at no more than 62°C usually, at 117% power and 99% gaming usage, even in rtx benchmarks etc.

Just enjoy it m8
