Bit of a weird directory problem....

Ok lets start....

How do I change the directory of my Music and pictures in my start menu??
For some reason, when I click the My music/pictures in my start menu, it directs me to my My music/pictures in my shared folders? :confused:

Take a look and find it cant do what hes asking..... :confused:

Just looked at TweakUI and it can't do anything to those folders.....

Seems like they are linking to the wrong place.....

Instead of here.

C:\Documents and Settings\t31os\My Documents\My Pictures

Its going here.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Pictures

Or at least how it would be if mine pointed to the shared one.

Am i on the right track?

Nah that only works for My Docs from the start menu i already tried it, i set those folders to show and tried editing, not found a way yet, bear with me.

Maybe windows has changed the destination of the folders so its not just the start menu.
 
My Pictures, My Games, My Music etc..... are relative to where windows says you My Doc's folder is, so open My Computer, right click on 'user's documents' where user's = your username, select properties and post here where that currently points.

If the My Docs location hasnt changed, i can't see why else you'd have this problem. Just never heard of this problem specifically.

The thing is the my music/pictures are in my documents all fine..
Can't see why its directing it to the wrong folders in the start menu...

Sorry i stand corrected, TweakUI can change locations of these folders, i just couldnt see the option to start off with.

Download TweakUI, choose from the left My Computer > Special Folders

You should be able to point them to the right places if any are incorrect. If they show as being correct in TweakUI i can't think what else to try.

When did the links last work and what have you installed/modified since then if anything?

Only took 5 mins to sort out, and if i hadnt been so quick to dismiss TweakUI it would have been quicker.

I don't mind being wrong though. :D
