Having ordered the Sharkoon CA-I (Seems to be a reiterated version of the Powercool QUBE) I'm unsure wether to go for a SFX PSU or a standard size that's at least semi modular.

There won't be anything overly powerful in this box, just an 1155 i3 and a 750ti so power requirements aren't massive.

Budget wise, nothing ridiculous. I think upto £60 Is more than adequate.

So, if it were you, what would you choose?

You really need fully modular for that case as it get's really messy else. A 350w psu would be more than enough for your pc but OCUK doesn't sell any quality small capacity modular psu's (Seasonic G series 350w is out of stock). I would have recommended the EVGA Supernova GS 550w at £65 as it's fully modular and compact but it's out of stock here.

Ok, time to bite the bullet and recommend a pair of psu's that I normally wouldn't recommend as there are better units available for the money (just not on here). These are not fully modular either but only being able to recommend items from OCUK and sticking within your £60 budget I don't have a choice.

BeQuiet Pure Power L8 430w £56. This is a HEC built unit with 396w on a single 12v rail. Review here.

Corsair CS 450w £59. This unit is built by Great Wall for Corsair and has a single 12v rail of 426w. It's also gold rated but still only has a 3 year warranty. Review here.

When you fit the psu you need to install it so that it is drawing air through the side panel vents or it will starve the cpu cooler of airflow and the fan on both the cooler and psu will ramp up and get very noisey. I would suggest a filter for the side panel to prevent the psu sucking in dust. This should do the job.

theoretically, based on what you want to put in it (i3 +750Ti) even a 350W should be plenty.
I'd recommend looking at these 2:
SuperFlower Golden Green HX 350W
Seasonic G series 360w

I have the first one in a NAS with a celeron + a 750Ti incoming. Celeron full load + 4 HDD + wifi card peaked at under 60W consumption.

It also depends what are you future plans. If you plan to upgrade any further you might want to invest a little more in the psu at this point, If not, one of the two WILL do great.
The reason i recommended those 2 PSU, is when i was looking for a new psu myself, i was interested in low power efficiency. Those 2 excelled.

Thanks pastymuncher, there's some reading material for when I finish work this evening! And thanks for the tip when installing it, I hadn't thought of that :)

It seems that the Seasonic G Series is getting a lot of thumbs up... could be the direction I go in once I've done a bit of reading.

Again, thanks guys! :)
