Bit of advice

Hey guys. I sold a asus rampage 2 extreme 2 weeks ago on a auction website which was fully working. was using up to the day the auction ended. buyer contacts me today saying mobo is faulty cmos error tried reset cmos and still nothing. his english is pretty bad think he is polish living in uk. What sort of things can cause cmos error? im guessing he has attempted to change the bios version and its failed? Any advice on what to do would be great

Need a better description from him of error.

A bad/failed flash would result in no post.

Could be a flat bios battery? (defaults loaded press f1 to continue etc)

Hi the motherboard is faulty, CMOC ERROR on the poster.Big problem the system will not even post.
The posting stops with CMOS error. I did try to clear the CMOS numerous times, both with the button or battery removal and the problem is still the same.Have you any idea? If not I will return the motherboard. chears

Thats all he has said. i have asked for a better description which im waiting to hear back for.

just had a response from him the lcd poster display shows as follows when he boots
WELCOME LOCKED DET DRAM CHECKCPU VGA BIOS USB FINAL INIT ROM CMOS ERR

Any ideas?

from what i know its not the motherboard its his gpu thats fried
