Was just wondering what would be better for future proofing, oc i5 6600k bundle.
or i7 6700k without oc, cant afford i7 bundle oc.
Would mainly be for gaming at 1080, and for my wife using for her work
Considering an Ivybridge 3570K still kicks bottoms with the right GPU I'd say the i5. The i7 works better in applications written to take advantage of the extra virtual cores, but the differences won't be worth the increase for you.
I've no idea how to go about the overclocking, this will be my first time of trying to fit a motherboard bundle, only ever fitted gfx and hard drives before.
Thought there would be less to go wrong buying a ready made bundle
It's not very difficult really and you can either save move or have better components compared to a pre-built machine.
With a pre-built though if there's something wrong you can say here you go, sort the machine out rather than troubleshooting to find which component is faulty.
