Bit of an issue with display settings!

Since trying an Emulator for old game boy roms, the graphics quality in windows has been very bad. For example the chrome logo is flat colour and there is no detail in any display icons.

Ive checked every display setting I can find, and its all on its highest, yet I cant get rid of the problem.

What have I done?
 
Look for an option for "Colour Depth" or simply "Colour". Should be at 32Bit. It definitely shouldn't be at 8-bit.

You can find it if you go to right-click>properties on desktop, under advanced.

This may fix the problem.
