Hello All,

I need some help & advice on what to do lo

i have a Asus A7N8X-e Motherboard with 3 HDD's

A 40gb IDE which has windows installed
A 160gb IDE stored with music a movies
A 80gb SATA with more movies, music & ofcourse the standard XXX movies :D

My 40gb is full it only has windows, WoW & The sims on it, and has about 200mb left.

So i'm thinking of buying another IDE about 160gb or smething to replace it :)

Now my question is, should i go IDE or Sata ?

i still got a sata port spare on the mobo so that is good but will there be a major difference ?

And also is there someway in which i can just copy everything from the 40gb to the new HDD to save me re-installing windows, drivers and games at it will take days to it again?.

Thanks james

Given the price of drives you'd be better off getting something bigger and using a single drive.

If you get the partitioning right you should be able to image all the existing drives across to the new drive and not have to reinstall anything.

If your board supports SATA then there's no point buying another IDE drive.

SATA.

And you may as well re-install, your windows will be cleaned up plus on a faster drive.

window is fine on here just not enough space and i cnt be dealing with re-installing everything it takes about 3 days to repatch WoW.

Any drives people would recommend ?

i like having seperate drives as if one goes wrong i won't lose everythng :)

Am i right in thinking i could hook the new drive up, then just copy everything to it and tht set the bios to boot from it ?

It won't work like that.

Thats why I said re-install windows, or like the gentleman above me said use a disk ghosting program.
