Hi,
I just bought a 2600 and gigabyte z68 ud5 and would like to OC the chip to something i can use 24/7. I have read a couple threads on here but still have some questions.
First what tool do you guys reccomend for a reliable Vcore reading?
at the moment i have 3 diff readings!
CPUz is telling me 1.080 core voltage
Easytune6 (gigabyte software came with board) is telling me 1.26v on the CPU info screen
Speedfan is telling me Vcore1 is 1.44
All very confusing. I should add that i have manually changed Vcore in BIOS to 1.36
Second question is whats a really safe Vcore limit to use, i have seen different answers and wondered if there was a consensus? I will be very happy to have a 24/7 machine running anywhere between 4.5 and 5GHz.
Third question, whats the best software to use to ensure my system (once i have got q1&2 answered) is fully stable.
Some useful info:
using Corsair H50 WC (OC to 4.5GHz at a (BIOS) Vcore of 1.36 my temps are 22 idle and 52 full load as measured using speedfan (exotics tab) when running Prime 95 torture test with all cores at 100%, i am thinking these are really good safe temps, is that correct?
Really appreaciate any and all advice and help for my noob questions as i am really very much a beginner at this.
Cheers,
