Hi all, been looking round for a Gaming Rig for £1000(No monitor, mouse or keyboard in that price).

The "Titan Goliath" looks just what im after. I was thinking of getting that, and upgrading the graphics card to the HD 4890 1GB. Also changing case to Antec 900 and sticking in vista 64. All comes to just under £1000. That should handle the games at the moment well.

A few questions.

1) Does the overclocking of the I7 Core, also include the overclocking of the GPU(Which when i change will be HD 4890) ?
2) The spec details do not go into a lot of detail, does it include a wireless network card built in? As gives you know option to add on.

All in all looks great gaming rig for the price, only downside is i would not be able to order till late next week, and says 1 week offer only:( So hoping the offer gets exstended;)

Nope, just the cpu. You'll have no problems clocking the GPU yourself via ATi CCC.

No, but you could ring them and get them to add one to the rig - as they're pretty flexible with there bundles if you want to add any extras.

Thanks for the reply mate.

Shame you can not just add things onto the system, i bloody hate phones:D
Ive never done overclocking before, so i would need alittle guidance i think.

By the way, what is delivery rate here for a system like that, i see no mention of costs but i know it aint free.

You can contact them via a web note if your phobia of phones is all consuming ;). They're used for pre-order enquiries too and they're usually pretty quick in getting back to you.

Honestly, once you have the ATi CCC panel infront of you you'll have no problems clocking the GPU while following some basic instructions.

Delivery is usually in the region of £9 for full rig delivery - i think.

delivery is calculated upon entry of your details, become a regular on the forums and in the future you can get it free!

Assuming your mainland UK etc etc.

Phones are fine mate, I'm sure the person on the other end will be very helpful and understanding.

With regards to overclocking, do you really want to? bearing in mind its more of a hobby than a necessity. Although nowadays it is relatively simple.

Thanks for replys guys. I don't really want to overclock to be honest. But as the CPU comes overclocked, it seems a waste not to overclock the GPU also. Does it help much with gaming overclocking?? If not i would leave it as it is for a while i guess.

£9 or so is not bad for delivery, so im ok with that.

Do you guys order a lot with Overclockers? I ask this as one or two reviews on the net don't speak well of OC and the customer service help:eek:

Ok well the CPU will come pre overclocked in the specific system you have selected, any overclock to your GPU will have to be done yourself.

In my personal opinion overclocking a GPU is a pointless exercise unless your shooting for benchmarking scores.

It adds excess heat into the system and voids the warranty of the graphics card, all for possibly 1 or maybe 2 extra frames per second.

OCUK does get bad press from some people as does every other place I've shopped at. Any RMA's that I have run though them have always been dealt with satisfactorily.

Hehe, ppl wont be able to answer that fully on these forums as they're owned and run by OC's - and it's against the forum rules.

However, i've recently started to use them again and have found them pretty quick in dealing with any problems. Plus you can contact them by phone which is a novelty now-a-days - so you can sort any problems you might have person to person. (obviously not much of a bonus for you given your phone phobia ;))

On the whole i rate them - but like any e-tailer they will have their faults and and as such will have their fare share of detractors.

Ok thanks, i will leave the Overclocking on the GPU then.

Just hope the offer is on for next week also, if not will hold on till new offer comes up.

Final few questions if you don't mind...

1) Whats the average arrival on these machines, we talking a week plus for delivery...? I don't actually mind as will have to wait two weeks to get a decent monitor

2) Talking of monitors, i will have a budget of between £180-£220 for a Monitor. Im not sure what size to go for, 22,23 or 24 inch? Anyone advise on a mointor off here.

Thanks for all the help.

I think it's usually 48hrs - but can be up to a week depending on demand.

I like the DELL 22" Ultrasharp at that price.
