not too sure where to put this as i have not narrowed down the cause.
however a bit about my problem

during game play, i keep geting pixelated squares and flashing graphical lines covering over the screens usually after about 5 mins. this happens when switchin back to the desktop aswel when the game is open, but as soon as i close the game, desktop goes back to normal.

I have tried everything in a new mobo, a friend has tested the gfx and says it is fine, tested the ram sticks one by one and happens on both sticks.

at a loss of what it could be, i have tried updating the drivers and a fresh install on windows and just the latest ati drivers? anyone any thoughts?

cheers in advance

If the card works in your friends pc & you memtested ram, it could be you motherboard.

Do you have another card (your friends card perhaps) to try & see if the same thing occurs?

Also what sort of PSU do you have & how old is it? Are all the power cables etc connected ok as well?

thats for the quick reply

psu is a seasonic 500w only about 7 months old, all connected up ok.

I am gonna try and get hold of another card tomorrow to try.

i dont thinks its the motherboard, because i have moved everything onto a dfi lanparty rdx 200 and get the same issues.

i should add that i did have a problem with the pci-e slot on the motherboard 6 months ago, and was replaced, but the symptons were different and doesnt really explain why it happens on another board.

sounds like your gfx is overheatin
Could be.

To the OP how good is your case ventilation.
If you have a spare 80 - 120mm fan, you could try attatching to the graphics card & see if that changes anything.

BTW that PSU should be fine then.

ventaliation is alright in the case.

Have just noticed the sheer amount of heat and noise of the fan on the gfx, should have noticed it earlier.

does look like the gfx is overheating. sticking a 120mm fan next to it, does help slightly,

Might just order a new one.

Thanks for the above replies.
