Hi all,

I was just wondering, is it possible to get the Astro A40 microphone to work as well as some earphones at the same time? So, have no sound from the headset, but have sound from the earphones instead?

I literally just want the mic to work on it's own from the Astro headset, so have the Astro's around my neck and have earphones in at the same time. Is this possible? :S Or am I asking for too much here?

Thanks in advance!

Plug your earphones into the headphone jack, then plug the microphone connector from your A40 (you may need to use a splitter) into the mic jack. Job done.

Right,

I mostly use the mic on teamspeak while playing CS:GO and if I go into the teamspeak audio capture settings, it basically has 3 options, my USB mic from webcam, Astro Mixamp (which is what I normally use) and the on-board realtek high definition audio.

I don't want to like, take the mic out of the A40's and have it on it's own. Basically, I just want to 'mute' the sound from the A40's (have it only pick up sound from the mic) and have some earphones pugged in into the mixamp which output sound.

Here's the list of cables that I've got:
- "A40 MOBILE CABLE" - Which goes from my A40's to the mixamp.
- "TOSLINK OPTICAL CABLE" - Goes from mixamp to motherboard.

So if I get a splitter cable for the 'mobile cable' and use it for the microphone connector on my PC, it should work? Or do you mean get the mic out of the headset + plug it into the splitter?

I've already tried plugging in the 'mobile cable' into the microphone jack + messing about with the settings on TS to maybe pick up the mic from that but I've had no success.

Only reason I mentioned the cables is the fact that I still want to use my earphones with the mixamp, otherwise the mixamp is pointless :\
